Shure A15AS Balanced-line Attenuator
Use this balanced-line attenuator to prevent low-impedance microphones (rated at 150 or 600 ohms) and high-output condenser microphones from overloading low impedance inputs in high sound pressure level applications. The values of attenuation can be switch selected for 15, 20, or 25 dB. Use the A15AS with any low-impedance microphone, including phantom-powered condenser microphones, such as the Shure SM81. It can be used in line between the microphone and its power supply. (This model is not suitable for use with the condenser powering system called 'A-B Powering.') The A15AS attenuator bridges the microphone output and allows maximum signal handling with a minimum of loading-caused distortion or reduction in clipping level.

Is the 1/8" line-out on the back of my pc balanced or unbalanced?
I just purchased a handheld digital recorder, which has a 1/4" trs balanced line-in. I did not purchase the recorder to record from my pc, but I may in the future. Is the audio 1/8" trs line-out on the back of my pc balanced or unbalanced? Thanks
unbalanced. All home level audio equipment uses unbalanced (i.e. RCA type connectors) audio unless specifically stated otherwise. Balanced equipment can accept unbalanced inputs with no problem, you just need the correct cable, and you do lose the noise reduction of true balanced inputs.

Will a "Balanced Line TRS" cable work for my Stratocaster Guitar?
Will a "Balanced Line TRS" cable work for my Stratocaster Guitar?
your guitar does NOT have a "balanced out", so it all depends on what you want? the cable "might" work, but it will NOT be a "balanced" signal....!!!! if it works, it will NOT be any better than any high quality guitar cable. The Fender Strat has Hi Impedance pickups, (unless you changed them) Only Lo Imp pickups, can be "balanced" . (unless you put a transformer inline) what are you trying to accomplish with it? do NOT go over 20 feet of cable, you WILL start to lose signal, highs, etc, if you do. Buy the BEST quality cable you can, it doesn't make sense, to have a good guitar, and try to save $5-10 on a cheap cable.
What Balanced line driver can i use with a 8v preamp cd player to get at least 12 volt rms or more?
the amp i will use is the Hifonics Brutus BRZ2400.1D.
why do you nee that much signal voltage to the amp? most amps are not made to handle that high of input voltage. especialy those hifonics amps. there is no need. just run straight from the head unit
How can i make a simple in-line hi pass filter for a balanced mic line to mic a leslie horn?
Horns cross over point is 800hz. Anything I can filter below that will help with feed back and rotor noise.
Just connect the mic to any normal sound mixer and adjust that input channel's EQ to knock out the lows and the mids a bit - very easy. You don't need an external high pass filter - your mixer has one built in.
